Air-Fryer Chicken Thighs

These air-fryer chicken thighs are seasoned with a simple smoked paprika and garlic rub, then air-fried until browned and juicy. Air-frying uses less fat than pan-frying, making this an easy, heart-healthy main ready in under 30 minutes.

Plate of seasoned air-fryer chicken thighs

You Will Need

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken thighs
  • 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Step 1Gather all ingredients.
  2. Step 2Preheat an air fryer to 400°F (200°C), according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  3. Step 3Pat the chicken thighs dry with a paper towel and brush with olive oil. Place them skin-side down on a plate.
  4. Step 4Combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper in a bowl. Sprinkle half evenly over the thighs, then flip and sprinkle with the remaining seasoning.
  5. Step 5Place the thighs skin-side up in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook until browned and the juices run clear, about 18 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the centers should read at least 165°F (74°C). Serve and enjoy!

Tips & Substitutions

Cooking tip: The spice rub also works on pork, and the chicken can be grilled instead of air-fried. Cumin and cayenne pepper can be added for more flavor. Nutrition tip: To reduce fat, remove the skin — grab and pull. Air-frying reduces the fat needed as well. Substitution: Use Italian seasoning in place of the smoked paprika.
