Childhood Hunger
There are children struggling in West Alabama.
More than 292,330 children in Alabama are at risk today. They may not have had breakfast this morning, and some didn’t even have dinner last night.
Kids can’t thrive on an empty stomach. They need nutritious food to develop their mind and body. Hunger has debilitating, lifelong effects on a child’s physical and cognitive development, behavior and ability to succeed. It undermines that child’s well-being, the stability of her family and the prosperity of her community.
Each one of us can help
Because of West Alabama Food Bank’s efficient food rescue and distribution system, every $1 donated equates more than $12 of food, and for $130, you can help provide one child a meal every weekend for the ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR! You can make a big difference.
